Meteor Shower 2006

When I was looking at the Space Links at my old site few days ago, the first link listed was the link to Meteor 2001 at Astrophoto website. Now you know how long I haven’t edited that site. That was the reason I then added this link there.

This morning I found so many news about the Geminid Meteor Shower tonight. Here is what I found in Science@nasa that was posted yesterday:

“It’s the Geminid meteor shower,” says Bill Cooke of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office in Huntsville, Alabama. “Start watching on Wednesday evening, Dec. 13th, around 9 p.m. local time,” he advises. “The display will start small but grow in intensity as the night wears on. By Thursday morning, Dec. 14th, people in dark, rural areas could see one or two meteors every minute.” …..read more

Space Daily, Foxnews,  CNN and other’s also have carried the news in the past few days. Earth and Sky even offers Top 10 Tips for Geminid Meteor Shower. I check the weather forecast, it seems that we are going to have clear sky. Hopefully I will not miss this year shower again.

I stayed up until midnight on Dec. 13. The sky was clear but did not see any meteorite. Since I had to work early the next day, I then went to bed after spending like an hour outside on and off that night. Tried to get out early to look at the sky around 5AM. Didn’t see any either and I thought may be it was over so I went to bed again. :-) So far I haven’t found any posting of any picture taken from that night. I will post the link if I find it later.
